COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Lady Cardinals Cross Country showed once again how well they run at Gans Creek. The runners took a trip to Columbia for the Class 5 State Championship, and left with a 2nd place finish. Brooke Hedger led the team with a 5th place finish. She was a little more than 5 seconds shy of a top 3 finish.

Here's a look at the results from the Lady Cardinal runners:

5th - Brooke Hedger: 18:33.50

18th - Araceli Perez: 19:04:00

52nd - Brooke Collard: 19:53.90

55th - Emma McKinzie: 19:55.20

56th - Olivia Klotz: 19:55.80

90th - Tatym Buster: 20:35.90

124th - Alexis Shuster: 21.20.80

The team finished 2nd overall with 133 points. Blue Springs South took the title with 87 points. Webb City finished with a 1:22 1-5 Split and 19:28 average mark.

The Cardinal Boys also had a handful of representatives at the Class 5 State Championship. Sawyer Dalrymple led the team with a 38th place finish.
