FORT SCOTT, Kan. -- Lady Cardinals Tennis had themselves a day in Wednesday's Fort Scott Quad. The team travelled to Fort Scott, Kansas and came back across state lines with a first place finish. They played Fort Scott, Labette County, and Independence, Kansas.
Maecy Beverlin & Katelyn Cox went 2-1 to take second place in 1 doubles
Loreli Fisher & Sadae Reid were undefeated, going 3-0 and finishing 1st in 2 doubles
Aubrey Peterson went 3-0 to earn 1st in 1 singles
Aranza Gamez went 2-1 to earn 2nd at 2 singles
Isabella Brooks filled in for Independence as their 2 singles entry. She went 3-0 to win the 2 singles bracket.
"It was fun to see competition we haven't before. The girls had a really strong showing today," assistant coach Dean Derryberry said. "The girls played with confidence. It was a good night."
Webb City wraps up COC-West play with a trip to Neosho Monday, September 6th. After that, they'll compete in the COC Tournament to wrap up regular season play.
