The Webb City girls' tennis squad opened the 2025 season tonight at home versus New Heights Christian Academy. While the Lady Cards did lose 5-4 to a solid New Heights that came in with a 4-2 record on the season already, thanks to competition in the Joplin Interstate Tourney this past weekend, they played well overall as a team.
"New Heights was a terrific opening opponent for us," head coach Stephany Pace said. "They've been a quality team for several years, and their lineup is an experienced one. This one could have gone either way, and while we wish we'd gotten the W, Coach Derryberry and I are pleased at much of what we saw tonight."
Webb City's varsity wins came from the #1 doubles and #4, #5, and #6 singles lines.
