Fast scores lead Lady Cardinals to 5-0 victory vs. Joplin

JOPLIN, Mo. -- 5 scores, 5 different players. 3 of those scores came within the first 10 minutes. Webb City came out firing in their regular season finale on the road vs. Joplin.

In the 4th minute, Dakota DeGraffenreid was awarded a penalty kicked and got the goal off a soft touch.

In the 6th minute, Avery Pogue's assist allowed Avery Allen to charge in and kick the goal straight down the middle.

In the 9th minute, Avery Pogue earned a goal of her own off the top right of the net.

In the 16th minute, a corner kicked let Sammy Galardo get the quick tap into the net. 

Webb City had a 4-nil lead heading into halftime.

Goalie Addie Brown had several looks, but was able to keep the Lady Eagles at bay.

The play of the night came in the 75th minute. Ruby Channel's free kick bounced off the goalpost, soaring high into the sky. Lily Hall connected with the ball off a header to put Webb City up 5-0.

Lady Cardinals wrapped their regular season up at .500, finishing at 8-8. The team now travels to Willard Monday for the district tournament as the 3 seed. They'll play 6th seed Hillcrest at 5:30 PM.
