Two teams headed in opposite directions, a running clock, a drive back home and yet no one left the gym early.  Webb City, winning their fifth consecutive and moving to 4-1 in conference play, raced past Neosho 72-25.  But it was the pursuit of a milestone that kept everyone paying attention.  With just under three minutes left to play, Abby Sargent stepped to the free throw line, knocking down both attempts.  The final swish of the net and she became the latest member of the 1000 career point club.

Abby Sargent - Finished with 16 points to lead the team and the all important 2-2 from the free throw line for number 1000

Kenzie Horn - Missing the previous game due to illness, scored 15 on 6-7 shooting from the floor,  3-4 from three point range.

Adalyn Maxwell - Final player in double figures with 13, grabbed a team high 8 rebounds  and blocked 3 shots.

Whitlee Keith - Handed out seven assists and was credited with five steals.

Game Recap

The Cardinals did what the had to do, building a 17-4 lead after one and a 37-11 bulge at halftime.  Two scoring bursts, the first a 10-0 run just minutes into the game and the second a 16-0 at the end of the second. put the Cardinals firmly in control.  A final 12-0 run in the second half helped close the game.  

Team Stats

Webb City only turned the ball over six times, while forcing Neosho into 31.  Unselfish play saw the 4 different players record four of more assists, led by Keith's seven.
