Big second half leads Cardinals to win

Webb City scored a season high 44 second half points pulling away from Willard to a 66-45 win at home.  The Cardinals, with their fifth consecutive win over the Tigers, have now won eight of their last ten this season and it put an end to the Tigers six game winning streak.  

Cardinal Leaders 

Addie Burns - A 20 point night (11 in the decisive third quarter) to lead the team in scoring on 7-15 shooting from the field and 5-9 from the free throw line.  She also grabbed eight rebounds.

Abby Sargent - Earned her fourth double-double on the season with a 19 point - 12 rebound effort.  Also handed out six assists and was credited with five steals.

Game Recap 

Trailing by a point at the half, a different Lady Cardinal emerged from the locker room.  Scoring the first 10 points of the third quarter and the last 11, Webb City outscored the Tigers 24-6 in the frame to open a 46-29 lead heading into the final quarter.  The Cardinals were able to maintain the nearly 20 point lead for the remainder of the game, converting 8-14 from the free throw line in the final two minutes.

The Cardinals shot 56% in the second half.  Controlling the boards, the Cardinals outrebounded the Tigers 48-22, including 18 on the offensive glass that they converted into 16 second chance points.
