A seven run second inning, highlighted by a Liz Rheums three run blast, pushed the Cardinals to a 12-2 win over Waynesville.
The Tigers scored a run in the top of the first to grab the quick lead, but that was all they could get as the Cardinals got the first of three double plays to help end the inning.
Webb City saw the first four hitters set down before the next six batters reached on three walks, two singles and double from Abby Sargent. With two outs, Liz Rhuems put an exclamation point on the inning with a shot over the left field fence giving the home team a 7-1 lead.
Waynesville clawed back a single run in the third, but Webb City answered right back with two in the bottom of the inning. Kylee Sargent reached on an error and pinch runner Jo Jarmin scored the run on a Lily Hall double. Later in the inning Brecklynn Sargent drove home the final run with a sac fly.
A single run in the fifth and two more in the sixth brought the game to a close.
Alex Maturino and Karsyn Cahoon both had two hits to lead the eight hit attack. Abby Sargent, Brecklynn Sargent and Liz Rhuems all drove in three on the day.
Addie Burns picked up the win in her first start going 5.1, allowing only two runs while striking out six. Jo Jarmin closed out the game.
Webb City (2-1) will play three games tomorrow starting at 10:00AM. A rematch with McDonald County followed by games with Broken Arrow and Lee's Summit North
