The Lady Cardinals dropped a road game at Nixa on Tuesday 6-4. Despite hitting three home runs, a big fourth inning from the Eagles was too much to overcome.
Abby Sargent got the Cardinals on the board first with a solo shot in the top of the third.
Nixa took the lead in their fourth. Two singles and hit batter loaded the bases. With two outs, a wild pitch allowed the tying run to score and one pitch later a three run homer cleared the bases and gave the home team a 4-1 lead. A two run homer from the Eagles in the home half of the fifth put the Eagles on top 6-1.
A solo homer in the sixth from pinch hitter Kylee Sargent and another from Chasney Brown to lead off the seventh finished up the scoring.
Addie Burns went 2-3 on the day. Alex Maturino and Chasney Brown each reached base twice with a hit and a walk.
Alivia Nieburg took the loss allowing four runs, giving up only two hits.
The team will be have their home opener on Thursday with Waynesville coming to town.
