Webb City opened their conference schedule hosting Ozark on Tuesday afternoon, coming away with a 3-0 victory.
Lacy Resa reached with the first Cardinal hit of the game with two outs in the bottom of the fourth. Morgan Lammey followed with bunt single, and both runners moved up on a throwing error. Emily Harris drove in both runs when the Tiger second baseman misplayed her groundball into short center field.
Mikaela Burgess scored the third run of the game in the bottom of the sixth as she doubled to left center and scored on a sharp single from Megan Heman.
Kaitlin Beason earns the complete game win, allowing only five hits on the day and striking out nine. She was helped by the defense as they threw two of the runners out on the basepaths. Burgess gunned down a Tiger runner attempting to stretch a single into a double. The fifth inning ended with an Ozark runner caught trying to go from first to third on a base hit to right.
The Cardinals travel to Willard on Thursday.
