The Lady Cardinals turn back the Helias Crusaders 2-1 in the opening game of a two game weekend series.

Samantha Gilstrap, with a single to center, drove in the only Cardinal runs in the bottom of the second inning.  Amanda Wallace walked with one out and Megan Heman followed with a base hit.  Asia Bemo moved both runners up with a sacrifice bunt ahead of Gilstraps single.  

The Cardinals stranded eight runners on the day.  Desirea Buerge and Wallace each finished with two hits to pace the eight hit attack.

Kaitlin Beason earned the complete game win, allowing only one run on three hits.  She struck out ten and only issued two walks.  

The Cardinals will face Helias again on Saturday at 10:00 am.
