Lady Cards victorious on senior night

The Webb City Lady Cardinals shut out the Tigers 3-0 on senior night.

Seniors Kyra Parker, pitching a complete game, and Tyler Alexander, scoring the final run of the night, were honored after the game.

The Cardinal offense pounded out 10 hits, led by Lacy Resa and Mikaela Burgess with two hits each.

Burgess scored the first run in the third inning on a perfectly placed bunt hit by Asia Bemo.  Burgess then drove in the second run in the fourth inning, plating Morgan Lammey who had led off the inning with a single.  Megan Heman scored Alexander in the bottom of the sixth with bases loaded single.

Parker only allowed two hits on the day, striking out two without allowing a walk.  The tigers were only able to get one runner into scoring position in the game, but Desirae Buerge, after fielding a ground ball and faking a throw to first,  tagged the runner trying to advance to third.

The Lady Cardinals (14-2, 6-0) travel to Jefferson City on Wednesday for a pair of games with Helias, before finishing out conference play on Thursday as they visit Nixa.
