Lady Cards defeat Neosho

Webb City defeated Neosho 10-0 in six innings on Tuesday afternoon

The Cardinals, scoring in every inning but the fifth, raised their record to 9-2 and 4-0 in conference play.

Lacy Resa singled and scored on a Morgan Lammey ground ball to take a quick 1-0 lead in the first inning.

The Cardinals tallied five runs in the second.  Mollie Peoples singled, Asia Bemo walked and Resa singled to load the bases.  Kaitlin Beason drove in two with a single followed by a Desirae Burge run scoring single.  Morgan Lammey drove in the final two runs of the inning when her infield pop up hit the ground behind the Wildcat first baseman.  

Megan Heman singled and Asia Bemo reached on an error in the third and scored on a Resa ground out and a Beason single, her third hit of the game.  

Emily Harris roped a solo home run to right center to push the lead to 9-0 after 4 innings.

Burge walked to open the sixth and scored on a Wildcat error to end the game.

Beason started the game and faced only nine Wildcats in her three innings, not allowing a baserunner, striking out three.  Kyra Parker worked the last three innings for the combined shut out, only allowing three hits, striking out three without walking a hitter.

Beason ended the game with three hits and three runs batted in.  Resa collected two hits and Lammey had two rbi's.  

The Cardinals will play three games on Thursday as they travel to Miami Ok to open tournament play with two bracket games, before making the trip to Carthage for a COC game scheduled to start at 5:00.  The Miami tournament will continue on Friday and Saturday.

The junior varsity game was won by the Cardinals 10-0 in four innings.
