Emily Harris belted a walk off home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat Willard 2-1 on Thursday evening.
The Cardinals (7-2, 3-0), scored in the first inning as Lacy Resa drew a one out walk, stole second and scored on a Kaitlin Beason single. Willard was able to tie the game in their half of the third inning with three consecutive infield singles.
Webb City threatened to score in the second when Harris led off the inning with a double off the base of the fence, advancing to third on a Samantha Gilstrap ground ball but was stranded as Willard secured a strike out and ground out to end the inning. Desirea Burge opened the fourth inning with a sharp single back up the middle but was later thrown out at home.
Kyra Parker picked up the win, holding the Tigers to only six hits and striking out six in seven innings of work.
The Cardinals will return to action on Saturday as they host the Joplin Eagles at noon.
