Replogle powers Webb City past Republic

Alexah Replogle belted two home runs and drove in seven runs as Webb City downed Republic 14-2 in five innings Tuesday afternoon in a Central Ozark Conference Large Division softball contest.

The Cardinals erupted for six runs in the first inning.

Laney Kneib walked, Lacy Resa singled and Kaitline Beason was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Replogle followed with a grand slam home run to left.

Lexi Gardner reached on an error, and Courtney Jones walked. After a passed ball, Chelsea Smith's sacrifice fly to right scored Gardner, and Mollie Peoples singled to score Jones.

Replogle, senior left field, slugged a three-run homer during the Cardinals' five-run third. Kneib started the inning with a homer.

Replogle, Kneib and Resa collected three hits apiece to pace the Cardinals' 15-hit attack, and Beason added two hits and two RBI.

The Cardinals play two games at two sites on Thursday. First they face Wyandotte at 11:30 a.m. in the Miami (Okla.) Tournament before returning home to meet Nixa in a league game at 5 p.m.
