The Lady Cardinals won their conference opener 10-1 over Willard on Thursday.
The Cardinals used two big offensive innings and the pitching of Laney Kneib in turning back the Tigers.
After two scoreless innings, Lexie Gardner reached on an error to begin the third inning. Kambrey Cooper walked and Courtney Jones scored Gardner when her sacrific bunt turned into a Tiger error. Lacy Resa drove in Jones with a ground ball into right field and Kaitlin Beason finished the scoring with a double to the right center field fence.
In the fifth, the Cardinals scored four times when Jones was hit by a pitch to start the inning and Asia Bemo and Resa each singled to load the bases. Beason drove a triple down the right field line to empty the bases and then scored on Kneib's single to right.
Beason finished the day with a double and triple, driving in five runs and Resa was a perfect 3 for 3 at the plate. Kneib also picked up two hits while Alexah Replogle doubled and Gardner ended with a triple.
Kneib picked up the complete game win, scattering four hits.
The Lady Cardinals travel to Ray-Pec this Saturday for a noon contest.
