The Lady Cardinals opened the 2011 season with a 8-0 win over Diamond in opening pool play in the Joplin tournament.

After a scoreless four innings, Courtney Jones reached on an error and later scored when Kambrey Cooper also reached by a Wildcat error.  With one out, Lacy Resa singled and after stealing second, Chelsea Smith delivered a two run double.  Kaitlin Beason and Laney Kneib also belted doubles in the innings.

Kyra Parker struck out 12 in earning the victory.

The Lady Cardinals continue pool play this afternoon and will have bracket play on Saturday.
