Cardinals falter in second half at Nixa

The Cardinals battled the once beaten Nixa Eagles to a first half stalemate, but could not keep pace in the second half dropping a 62-49 decision on the road.

Shooting 11 of 22 (50%) from the floor in the first half including 6 of 10 from long range, the Cardinal forged a 26 -26 tie at the break.  With only a minute left in the half they held a six point advantage but an old fashioned three point play and a long range shot in the last few seconds got the Eagles back to even.

Hampered by foul trouble and a 12-3 run to start the second half from the Eagles, allowed Nixa to build a lead that they never relinquished.

Grayson Smith led the effort with 13 points off the bench hitting three from behind the arc.  Mason Young chipped in nine with Trae Turner adding eight.

Webb City (4-3) will take part in the Kaminsky Classic beginning on Thursday.
