Boys open with 67-44 win at Pittsburg

The Cardinals opened the 2025-26 season with a 67-44 win at Pittsburg.

A balanced scoring attack and consistent defense led the way.

Four different players scored double figures in the game. Trae Turner and Jackson Adams each chipped in 14 to lead the way.   Hudson Matthiesen, hitting back to back three to close the first half, just missed a double-double with 13 points and 9 rebounds.  Carson Anderson added 11 points in his first start.  A strong start to the second half, pushed an 11 point lead to a comfortable 51-32 edge headed into the final frame.  Taking advantage of their height, the Cardinals outscored Pittsburg 42-20 in the paint.

Defensively, the Cardinals held the Purple Dragons to 12 points or less in each quarter as they forced them into 32 turnovers.

Webb City hits the floor again with three games to end the week at the Carthage Tournament, opening with a 5:30 game on Thursday with Nevada.
