Quick start pushes Cardinals to senior night win

Struggling to score for most of February, the Cardinals lit up Neosho for 25 first quarter points enroute to a 71-53 win.

Jumping out to a quick 14-2 lead, Webb City never let Neosho get closer than eight points, putting an end to a brief two game skid.   The Cardinals made six of their first seven shots and defensively forced the Wildcats into six turnovers and only one basket in the first four minutes building the early lead.

Leading by ten at half, Webb City put it away quickly in the third, pushing the lead to as many as 21.  An inspired eleven point run from Neosho drew the game back to within 11 in the final two minutes.

Holton Keith led the scoring with 20 points.  The other four starters got close to double digits with Eli Pace, Trae Turner and Slade Hurd each totaling nine with Mason Young finishing with eight.  Dalton Riggs recorded a season best 11 rebounds off the bench while scoring seven of his own.  Fourteen different players found their way onto the floor for Webb City.

The Cardinals set a new team record with nine made 3PT field goals in the Dome.  Slade Hurd had three with six other players hitting one from long range.

The Cardinals will play their final regular season game at home on Friday with Joplin before hosting the district tournament the next week.
