The Cardinals defeated Ozark on Monday night with a rim shaking dunk from senior Preston Ellis in overtime.
After an evenly played first half, the Tigers were able to open a 10 point lead midway in the third quarter and held a 52-45 lead at the end of the quarter.
Payton Guiot scored the final nine points, all from behind the arc as the Cardinals tied up the game with 1:24 left. Ozark elected to hold the ball for a final shot and missed in the closing moments sending the game into the extra period.
The Tigers scored first in OT and Tate Smith tied the game with two free throws with just over a minute to play. Ozark once again held the ball for the last attempt but missed a shot with 18 seconds left. Webb City missed a shot and the ball fell out of bounds, going back to the Cardinals with only 1.4 seconds left on the clock. Inbounding the ball from the left of the basket, Ellis came open on the right side of the rim, taking the inbound pass straight up with a two handed dunk as the horn sounded.
Guiot lead the Cardinals scoring wih 18 points, followed by Smith with 16 and Kaden Roy with 10.
Webb City (8-2) will travel to Hillcrest on Friday night before returning home next Monday.
