The Webb City High School boys basketball team improved to 2-0 in the Central Ozark Conference Large Division by beating Republic 63-52 on Tuesday night.

The Cardinals, 9-4 overall, led 12-8 after one period and 30-23 at the half.

Kohl Slaughter, who sank two 3s against the Tigers' zone, scored 23 points to pace the Cardinals. Breckin Williams added 15, Nate Brown 11 and Phoenix Johnson 10.

"This was one of our best games from start to finish," Webb City coach Landon Cornish said. "We played very hard the entire game. It takes that in the COC."
