Homecoming victory

The Cardinals dispatched of the Republic Tigers 49-6 on Homecoming 2013.

The Cardinals, with the help of two punt blocks, opened a 28-0 halftime lead over the visiting Tigers.

On the first possession, Webb City started near midfield and only needed eight plays to find the endzone as Trey Parra scored from two yards out.  

The defense forced a Tiger punt attempt, but Cameron Tournear blocked the kick, setting up the offense inside the ten yard line.  On the first play, Devin Pickett lofted an eight yard touchdown pass to Kiante Hardin and after a Nathan Gooch added the extra point the Cardinals led 14-0.

One their next possession, Webb City went 60 yards on five plays.  The big play of the drive was a 40 yard scamper from Trey Parra, before Pickett finished the drive with a three yard run.

Tournear blocked his second punt of the night, but the Cardinals failed to capitilze on that possession, but scored their fourth touchdown as they took control of the ball again at midfield after a Tiger punt.  Tyson Roderique guided this six play drive.  Kyle Baldassarre picked up a twenty yard chunk on a draw play, before Roderique scooted the last twenty yards for the score.

The starting unit scored on their first possession on the second half to push the lead to 36-0 and the Cardinals were able to score twice more as younger players got valuable playing time.  

Pickett threw his second touchdown pass to Hardin, Tyler Davison scored from three yards out and Logan Cloyd finished the scoring in the fourth quarter.

Webb City (3-1) will next travel to Nixa to face the Eagles with a kickoff set for 7:00
