The Webb City Football Cardinals made it 90 consecutive wins and 39 in a row with a 42-0 victory over the Branson Pirates. The defense had a shutout for the 3rd time this season. They held the Pirates to 57 yards rushing and 147 yards passing mostly on 2 long pass plays. They also forced 3 fumbles which stalled the Pirate drives. After the Cardinals received the opening kickoff, junior Trey Parra went 67 yards for a touchdown on the 1st play from scrimmage to set the tone for the night. Webb City rushed for 238 yards. Parra was leading rusher. Senior Phoenix Johnson had 7 rushes for 53 yards and 2 touchdowns. Cooper Smith also had 7 carries for 46 yards and 1 touchdown. Quarterback John Roderique had 3 carries for 22 yards and 1 touchdown. Junior Logan Cloyd returned after being injured at Willard and had 1 carry to start the 2nd half for a 21 yard touchdown to close the scoring. Webb City will be at home next Thursday night at Cardinal Stadium playing the West Plains Zizzers for the 1st round of district play.
