Cardinals walk off Indians in final regular season game

Trevor Lofland dropped a base hit deep down the left field line to send Mason Williams home with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to lift the Cardinals to a 3=2 win over Seneca.  It was the fourteenth consecutive win for the Cardinals as they finish the regular season at 26-4.

Webb City scored in the second inning as Mason Young was hit by a pitch, advancing to third on a Barek Hoffman single to right center.  He scored on an infield hit from Barret Weller and the Cardinals led 1-0.

Seneca countered with two unearned runs in the third.

Mason Williams blasted a solo home run in the fifth the knot the game at 2-2.

Looking like there would be some free base ball with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, Mason Williams drilled an opposite field triple to the base of the right field wall with two outs.  After passing Lake Johnson to first base with an intentional walk, Trevor Lofland belted the first pitch he saw for the game winner.

Tate Lewis worked his way up to the pitch count limit, finishing with back to back strikeouts on 109 pitches in the complete game win.  He limited the Indians to only four hits while striking out ten.

Williams finished 2-4 with the triple and home run, scoring twice.  Lake Johnson and Trevor Lofland each reached base twice.

The Cardinals begin district play next week as the #2 seed as they will face Parkview in the first round, Monday at 4:00 in Willard.
