The Cardinals won their 12th consecutive, pushing their overall mark to 24-4 with a 13-3 win over the visiting Monett Cubs.
Webb City got three in the first inning on only one hit. Mason Williams was hit by a pitch, stole second and moved up to third on a fly ball out. Trevor Lofland walked and promptly stole second. The errant throw allowed Drake Claborn, running for Williams to score the first run. Another walk put Mason Young on base and he and Lofland scored on a hit from Braden Strickland.
An errant throw on another stolen base in the second gave the Cardinals their third run as Barret Weller scored. Webb City left the bases loaded at the end of the third and fourth innings despite scoring three more in the fourth, building 7-0 lead.
Monett scored three times in the fifth, but the Cardinals put up a six spot in the bottom of the frame to bring the game to an early close. Mason Williams reached on an error and Lake Johnson walked to start the inning. Five consecutive hits from Lofland, Young, Braden Strickland, Barek Hoffman and Weller put an end to the game.
Trevor Lofland, Braden Strickland, and Barek Hoffman were all 2-3 on the day. Barret Weller reached base all three times with two walks and the game ending double, driving in a team high three runs. The Cardinals were aided by 10 walks and three hit batters. They also stole 10 bases in the contest.
Colton Rickman earned the win, going 4.2, scattering four hits and only allowing one run in the 50 pitch afternoon. Bryson Bard finished on the mound.
Webb City will travel to Joplin on Tuesday with a chance to claim the COC West title.
