The Cardinals laid claim to at least a share of the COC West title with a 10-0 win over Neosho. Webb City ran their overall record to 23-4, 5-0 in the COC while dropping Neosho to 17-12 and 3-3.
A two run second got things started. Mason Young and Braden Strickland opened the inning with back to back singles, moving up to second and third on an errant pick off attempt. Barret Weller picked up the first run with a single to left and Dawson McMullen delivered the final run with a sac fly to center.
A big six run fourth put distance between the clubs and allowed the Cardinals to take control as they sent 10 batters to the plate, forcing two Neosho pitching changes. With one out, a walk and two hit batters loaded the bases. Karsen Myers drove in the first two runs and Mason Williams reloaded the bases when he got hit by a pitch. Lake Johnson singled to right and after the ball rolled past the outfielder, cleared the bases as he wound up on third, adding three more runs to board. Johnson scored the final run of the inning when Trevor Lofland dropped a single into left.
A single run in the fifth and sixth ended the game early.
Braden Strickland was the Cardinal with two hits. Lake Johnson reached base three times with a hit and two walks. Barek Hoffman scored twice.
Tate Lewis only needed 70 pitches to earn the complete game win He only allowed three hits, struck out six without walking a batter.
Webb City will be at home on Monday to take on Monett.
