The Cardinals pushed their COC West record to 4-0 with an 18-0 victory over winless Parkview.
In a game between teams at different points of their season, it was a slow start for the Cardinals. They scored twice in the top of the first without the aid of a hit. Mason Williams reached on an error and scored on a wild pitch before Lake Johnson could finish his at bat, hit by a pitch on ball four. Trevor Lofland walked and both runners moved up on stolen bases to second and third. Mason Young got the second run home with a sac fly.
Only scoring one more in the second, Konnor Hood scoring an a sac fly from Dawson McMullen, the Cardinals then put up seven in the third and eight more in the fourth to win in a game shortened to only four innings.
The Cardinals scored the 18 runs on only seven hits. They were walked 13 times and hit by four pitches. Mason Young and Konnor Hood each finished 2-3. Barret Weller drove in four with a grad slam home run in the fourth.
Brennan Burgess got the win, allowing two hits in his three innings, striking out four. Barret Weller through the final frame, setting down the Vikings in order, striking out two.
Webb City will be back on Friday.
