Cardinals get Saturday morning win at Branson

An early morning bus ride was rewarded with a 7-4 win over Branson.

The Cardinals scored first putting two on the board in the second.  Mason Young doubled to lead off the inning, advancing to third on a sac bunt from Brody EgglestonLuke Beverlin was hit by a pitch and promptly stole second base.  Both runners moved up on a wild pitch with Young scoring the first run.  Beverlin came home on a ground ball from Cohen Epler.

Branson took a 3-2 lead with a three run third.  Webb City answered with a three run fifth.  Andrew Young drew a one out walk and scored on a double from Karsen Myers down the left field line.  He later scored on a wild pitch to tie the score.  Mason Young scored the final run of the inning after reaching on an error and a Brody Eggleston single to left.

A single run in the sixth as Andrew Young scored on a Pirate error and another run in the seventh finished the scoring for the Cardinals.  The final run scoring as pinch runner Mason Williams was driven home as Luke Beverlin drove a two out double down into the left field corner.

Tate Lewis did not figure into the decision pitching the first 2.2 innings.  He was tagged for three runs while striking out five.  Chayse Denton earned the win in relief working 3.1 surrendering only two hits and striking out a pair.  Austin Miller worked the final frame.

Webb City evens their record at 11-11 and will be back at home on Tuesday as the welcome Ozark to town.
