Webb City defeated Logan-Rogersville on a cool saturday afternoon 8-7, evening their record at 1-1 on the season.
The Cardinals found themselves behind early as they allowed single runs in both the first and second inning and two runs in the third to trail 4-0 going to the bottom of the third. They sent ten hitters to the plate in their half of the inning and were able to tie the game at 4. Kolten Potts led off the inning with a single to right and scored on a Calem Nutting double . Cooper Strasser and Joseph Jones drew back to back walks before Cade Crouch was hit by a pitch to score Nutting. Kyle Baldassarre drove in the third run on misplayed ground ball. Tyler Davison reached on two out bases loaded walk to tie the game.
Crouch delivered a two out double in the bottom of the fourth to score Strasser and Jones, who had both reached on Wildcat miscues, as the Cardinals grabbed the lead 6-4.
Webb City added single runs in each of the next two innings, as Potts doubled home Devin Pickett in the fifth and Pickett drove in the final run in the sixth with a sacrifice fly.
Potts and Crouch both picked up two hits on the day, each with a single and double, and Strasser and Jones each scored twice.
Ben Jones earned the victory, allowing five runs on eight hits over four innings. Trenton Moeller pitched two scoreless innings of relief. Nutting earned the save, allowing two runs in the seventh before striking out the last Wildcat batter to end the game.
The Cardinals continue play in the Lead Off Classic on Monday as they travel to Branson.
