The Cardinals started their weekend with a Friday afternoon home game with the Carl Junction Bulldogs and came away with a 4-0 victory.
Senior left-hander Tyler Burgess held the Bulldogs to only two hits in the complete game win. He struck out 11, only walking three.
The Cardinals opened the scoring in the bottom of the first as Scott Roderique reached on error, Breckin Williams followed with a single and both were driven home by a Burgess double to right-center.
Richie Peoples scored the lone run for Webb City in the second inning after drawing a a two out walk. The Cardinals scored their final run in the fifth as Roderique drove in Derek Mann with a single to right.
Roderique led the Cardinals eight hit attack and they took advantage of 6 CJ errors.
Webb City then traveled to McDonald County on Saturday afternoon for two games, defeating McDonald County 14-8, and then beating Nevada 15-4.
Webb City, against McDonald County, received three hits apiece from Tyler Burgess, Rich Peoples and Breckin Williams. Burgess socked a two-run homer in the first and Williams had a three-run blow in the fifth.
Burgess drove in three runs and winning pitcher Gage Belcher, junior right-hander who worked five innings, had two hits and two RBI to as did senior Nathan Ervin. Klay James and Jeremy West added two hits apiece.
Against Nevada, Ervin had three hits and four RBI and Belcher three hits and two RBI. James and Derek Mann had two hits apiece against the Tigers and Burgess had two RBI.
Williams, another junior right-hander, notched the win by working five innings.
The wins run the Cardinal record to 7-0 to start the season. This week they will continue play in the Bill O'Dell tournament in Carthage.
